Most people think of communities as a place or setting, or a suburb or city that
they live in. Communities are much more that that. They are the very essence of
how we live and socialize with others. We have our own personal communities,
the communities that we are a part of and the communities that we associate
with. Communities are the building blocks that allow us to make sense of the
world in which we live, participate and share experiences. They provide a sense
of identity and purpose, a sense of being a part of and belonging.
