• PETER ET AL. Published his book “The fifth discipline: the art and practice of the
learning organization” in 1990, Followed by The fifth discipline: Fieldbook in 1994,
After which learning organization became a hot topic in management sector.
• There has been mixed opinions about learning organization.
• Difficult to implement the idea of learning organisation.
Learning Organization Idea

• Learning was found to be the holy grail of successful business.


• According to Jashapara (1993), learning should happen at different levels of the
organization.
• Learning organizations are characterized by total employee involvement.
• Learning organization need changes for the development.
Is it all about (Economic) dominance?

• Modern business practice is predominantly based on the values of individualism and


masculinity that threaten the very fabric of the social system
• Even though this approach results in an initial thriving of an individual in the
material sense, feelings of alienation, destructive competition, meaninglessness and
frustration soon emerge
• The majority of people value the sense of belonging, acceptance and respect by the
community and the sense of a meaningful life
• A sustainable work system can be described as one that consciously strives toward
simultaneous development at different levels as follows: individual, group/firm and
region/society.
Where Learning Organizations Emerge and Reside

• Various tools techniques are used for learning in organization .


• Meaningful participation of members.
• Learning process should be done individually.
• Conventional business is increasingly running in the opposite direction.
• learning occurs randomly throughout life.
• When there is a change in the knowledge of organization.
• Gaining experience and using that experience to create knowledge.
Key learning

• Process should be done individually.


• For learning organization need changes in the process of learning.
• Organization should have proper learning ideas.
• For learning economic dominance should be there.
Conclusion

• Researchers consider business organization as machine.


• Learning organization is both metaphor and attainable state of my mind.
• We have to accept that learning cannot to be measured or seen and
learning can only be heart-felt.
