ETHICS IN PRODUCTION

 Ethics in production is a subset of business ethic that is meant to ensure that the
production function or activities are not damaging to the consumer or the society.
ETHICS IN PRODUCTION
 1.No forced labor should be employed in the process of production. Manufacturers shall
acknowledge the right of their employees to leave their employer after reasonable notice.•
 2. Manufacturers and suppliers shall not employ minors i.e. children below the age of 14.
Young workers shall not work during night hours or in hazardous conditions.
 3. Manufacturers and suppliers shall not apply any type of discriminatory practice with
regard to the recruitment, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination of the
employment agreement or retirement, based on race, caste, creed, nationality, religion,
age, gender, marital status, etc.•
 4. Manufacturers and suppliers shall ensure that their employees, without distinction,
have the right of association, union membership and collective bargaining.•
 5. Manufacturers and suppliers shall treat their employees with dignity and respect.
ETHICAL ISSUES IN PRODUCTION
 There are ethical problems arising out of use of new technologies that are harmful to
health, safety and environment. This includes technological advancements like
genetically modified food, radiations from mobile phones, medical equipment etc.
 2. Defective services and products or products those are innately deleterious like
alcohol, tobacco, fast motor vehicles, warfare, chemical manufacturing etc.
 3. Animal testing and their rights or use of economically or socially deprived people
for testing or experimentation is another area of production ethics.
 4. Ethics of transactions between the organization and the environment that lead to
pollution, global warming, increase in water toxicity and diminishing natural
resources.
ETHICS IN OPERATION MANAGEMENT

ETHICS IN OPERATION,
 generally defined in terms of the social, communal and environmental
responsibilities.
 Ethics refers to a system of moral principles of an individual.
 Ethics refers to the rules of conduct.
 The customer is directly involved in the operations. Any mistake in the service that
are provided will result in a loss of trust and loyalty of the customers.
An ethical business has to be concerned with the behaviour of all businesses that operate in the supply chain i.e.

Distributors
