DISPLAY BOARD
USED FOR

• Displaying current items of interest related to a lesson unit


• Displaying students projects & progress
• Posting announcements, memos & routine assignments
• Decorating the room
• Cannot be used for large groups
• Need more preparatory time
• Simple type of display board placed either indoor or outdoor, to
display all kinds of creative works

• Chalk board (Black board)

• Bulletin board
• Flannel Board
PRECAUTION:

 • Any dark coloured, flat, smooth surface on which one can


write or draw with a chalk
• prepared using smooth, thin sheets of slate or stone of
black/dark grey colour
• Now, Green coloured boards are popular because of better
compatibility viewer’s vision
 BLACK BOARD

• The teacher can illustrate his/her lesson. The lesson can be


phased and summarized in the right manner. Pupil’s interest
in class work can be stimulated. It provides a lot of space
for decorative and creative work. A teacher can review the
whole lesson
POINTS TO REMEMBER WHILE USING
BLACKBOARD

• Letters and drawings should be large


• Writing should be started from top left corner
• Writing should be in straight rows
• Material on the blackboard should not be covered by
standing in front of it
• Only salient points of subject matter should be written on the
blackboard
USE IN ISLAMIC STUDIES:

• Teach Grade one to Grade 8 we need to write translation of


Qurani Ayaat with refrences
• and also make silent features.
• Write Islamic month, Islamic date on board.
FLANNEL BOARD

• Consists of a portable, flat, board like object covered with


long-fibred cloth such as flannel or wool. Flannel Board
(Felt Board). Display materials like cut-outs , pictures,
drawings like objects backed with rough surfaces like sand
paper strips will stick to the flannel board temporarily.
PURPOSES OF FLANNEL BOARD

• It captures and holds attention of students


• Materials displayed can be removed easily
• Students can construct and reconstruct the concepts visually
USED THROUGHOUT DISCUSSION

• Facilitate easy understanding of concept


• Helps to communicate ideas
• Motivates the leaner's
• Add variety to classroom activity
• Provides supplement & correlated information
• Saves time in presentation
