Problem Statement & Description
Crop diseases are a major threat to food security, but their rapid identification remains
difficult in many parts of the world due to the lack of the necessary infrastructure. The
combination of increasing global smartphone penetration and recent advances in
computer vision made possible by deep learning has paved the way for disease
diagnosis. Every disease, pest, and deficiency leaves behind a specific pattern. we
recognize these patterns. One photo is enough and you know what your plant is
missing.

Objectives and Constraints
● Objectives :
○ Using advances in computer vision, a method to diagnose plant diseases prematurely
which can significantly improve crop yield.
○ To develop a mobile/web application using DCNN and Transfer learning to classify
the leaf diseases at early stage with minimal labour cost.
○ User friendly application supports the farmers to spot the plant diseases at early stage
and reduce its impact in crop yield
● Constraints :
○ Detection in large scale is a tedious task. Only one leaf can be processed at a time
