ROMANS 5:3-5
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our
sufferings, knowing that suffering produces
endurance and encourage, and endurance
produces character, and character produces
hope, and hope does not put us to shame,
because God’s love has been poured into
our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has
been given to us.”
Rejoice in our sufferings beacause we are a people of hope.
So, how can we have hope when everything
looks hopeless?
In the Midst of suffering, we can rejoice because these
challenges cause us to:
1. Rely on God’s Presence
 Rejoicing in suffering does not mean celebrating bad
news comes. But, it does mean that we can believe that
God is doing a redemptive work.
 REDEMPTIVE means that God does not waste a hurt or
disappoint. He is using them to shape and build us into the
image of Jesus, which is his highest passion.
In the midst of suffering, we can rejoice because these challenges cause
us to:

2. Rely on God’s Provision

2 Corinthians 12:9a
But he said to me, “My grace is
sufficient for you, for my power is
made perfect in weakness.”
In the midst of suffering, we can rejoice
because these challenges cause us to:
2. Rely on God’s Power
2 Corinthians 12:9b
“Therefore, I will boast all the more greatly about my
weakness, so that Christ power may rest on me.”

-What is your weakness?

* When you are weak you make me strong. All things are possible.

THE GREATER THE ENEMY COMES AT YOU,

THE GREATER JESUS IS IN YOU.
TIPS…
Here’s how you can find strength in though times
by turning to God for help:
1. Instead of trying to avoid suffering, seek to learn and grow
through it.
2. Follow your faith not your feelings.
3. Instead of asking “why” ask “how”.
4. Spend time with God often through prayer and reading
Bible.
JAMES 1:2-4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever
you face trials of many kinds, because you
know that the testing of your faith develops
perseverance, perseverance must finish its
works so that you may he mature and
complete.
