• Front-end web development

• A front-end development is a type of computer programming that
codes and creates the visual front-end elements of a software,
application or website. He or she creates computing
components/features that are directly viewable and accessible by the
end user or client.
• A front-end development is responsible for ensuring that a website's
visual front end is free of errors and looks exactly as designed. A front-
end developer also ensures that a website has the same visibility across
different computing and mobile Web browsers.
Front-end Languages
• HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language)

its content. For example, content could be structured within a set of paragraphs, a list of
bulleted points, or using images and data tables.
• CSS (Cascading Style Sheet)
CSS is designed to enable the separation of presentation and content,

Javascript (JS) is a scripting languages, primarily used on the Web. It is used to enhance

 History Of HTML

• In the late 1980's , a physicist, Tim Berners-Lee who was a contractor at

CERN, proposed a system for CERN researchers. In 1989, he wrote a
memo proposing an internet based hypertext system.

• Tim Berners-Lee is known as the father of HTML. The first available

description of HTML was a document called "HTML Tags" proposed by
Tim in late 1991.

• The latest version of HTML is HTML5

Advantages of HTML:
HTML is widely used.
Every browser supports HTML Language.
Easy to learn and use.
HTML is light weighted and fast to load.
Do not get to purchase any extra software because it’s by default in every window.

Disadvantages Of HTML :
It cannot produce dynamic output alone, since it’s a static language.
Making the structure of HTML documents becomes tough to understand.
Errors can be costly.
It is the time consuming as the time it consume to maintain on the colour scheme of a page
and to make lists, tables and forms.
Advantages of CSS :
The main advantage of CSS is that style is applied consistently across variety of sites.
It is less complex therefore the effort are significantly reduced.
It helps to form spontaneous and consistent changes.

Disadvantages of CSS :
CSS works differently on different browsers. IE and Opera supports CSS as different
logic.
There might be cross-browser issues while using CSS.
There are multiple levels which creates confusion for non-developers and beginners.
2. Back-end web development
• Backend Development is also known as server-side development. It is everything
that the users don’t see and contains behind-the-scenes activities that occur when
performing any action on a website. It focuses primarily on databases, backend logic,
APIs, and Servers.
• The backend of a website is a combination of servers, applications, and databases.
Code written by backend developers helps browsers in communicating with the
databases and store data into the database, read data from the database, update the
data and delete the data or information from the database.
Back-end Languages
• Java
Java is a commonly used language for web development, especially on the server-
side. Java web applications are distributed applications that run on the internet.

built at administrative end and thus only the administrator is guaranteed
the access. The purpose of the project is to build an application program to
reduce the manual work for managing the Hotel, Room, Employee,
Category. It tracks all the details about the Category, Booking, Facility.
