TURTLE

Habitat: They live in freshwater environments inhabiting
lakes, rivers and swamps as well as in terrestrial and
marine environments. They are found on all continents
with the exception of Antarctica and have very particular
characteristics depending on the habitat where they live.
FOOD: WHEN THEY ARE SMALL AND UNTIL THEY REACH
ADULTHOOD, THEY FEED MAINLY ON AQUATIC INSECTS, AMPHIBIAN
LARVAE, WORMS, EARTHWORMS, CRUSTACEANS AND SHELLFISH OR
SMALL LIVE FISH. OMNIVOROUS STAGE (MEAT, FRUIT AND
VEGETABLES). AS THE TURTLES GET OLDER, THEIR DIET ALSO
CHANGES.

BODY
Adult turtles can measure up to 1.5 meters in length and weigh
more than 230 kilograms, further It is made up of bone plates
or osteoderms of dermal origin and covered with scales of
epidermal origin that give it hardness and rigidity.
 Fact
• Its most outstanding characteristic is its wide and
short body, protected from the outside by a resistant
convex shell. This shell is attached to its spine and
forms part of its skeleton, further They have existed
for more than 100 million years.
