DEW FORMATION

What is a dew?
• Dew is water in the form of droplets that appears on
thin exposed objects in the morning or eveninf due to
condensation.
• As the exposed surface cools by radiating its
heat, atmospheric moisture condenses at a rate
greater than at which it can evaporate, resulting in the
formation of water droplets.
• The temperature at which dew forms is called dew
point. If a surface cools below the dew point, water
condenses on the surface and dew drops are formed.
How does it form?
• Dew forms as temperature drop and object cools
down.
• If the object becomes cool enough, the air around
the object will also cool.
• This forces water vapor in the air around objects to
condense. When condensation happens, small
water droplets form - dew.
• The dew formation is more when the sky is clear
and less when it's cloudy
• The temperature at which dew forms is called dew
point. If a surface cools below the dew point, water
condenses on the surface and dew drops are
formed.
