assured.
• She ruled England from 1837-1901. Her reign was the longest in
British history.
• The Victorian period was an age of transition. During this time
Britain changed dramatically.
• It was a period of great industrial development, of extraordinary
financial expansion, and of the creation of the immense British
empire.
