•Three-way switch is an electric

switch that has three terminals, it is
used to control a circuit from two
different locations.
When the two switches are
in the same position, both in
position 1 or both in
position 2, the bulb is “off”.
When the switches are in opposite or
unlike positions, the bulb will turn
“on”.

• Prepare all the tools and materials needed.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
to avoid electrocution and hurting ourselves.
• Switch off the circuit breaker or the main switch.*

 PROCEDURES
•Determine first the common and the 2
travelers of the 3 – way switch.
•Connect the live wire or line 2 into the
common of the first three-way switch.
•Connect the travelers of two 3-way switch
 PROCEDURES

•Connect the common of the 2nd 3-way switch

on the wire of central contact of the lamp
holder
•Connect the wire of the threaded part of lamp
holder on the Line 1
 PROCEDURES

• Using multi-tester, turn the selector knob into

the resistance or ohms range to check the
continuity of the circuit and if there are no error
connections that can cause short circuits.
