Future

Modes
of
Transportation
By: Zach Morris
Overview

From drones to self driving cars, the future of transportation is ever advancing in all
sectors due to new technology coming out every single day.

The future of transportation will most likely be filled with cost saving, fully
autonomous, and sustainable options that will save companies money while saving
the environment as well.

Transportation advancements are being made everyday and will not look the same in
5 years let alone 20.
Fully Electric and Self
Driving Vehicles

• Land transportation will most likely see the

biggest change in the next 10 years mainly with
cars and trucking as they change from gas to
electric powered.
• Companies such as Tesla and Nissan are striving
to create cars that are fully electric and can go up
to 400 miles on a single charge.
• More and more car companies are using
technology that allows cars to drive themselves
and in the upcoming years they will be fully
autonomous
• This has also branched out to the trucking
industry as Tesla plans to introduce fully
electric/self driving semi trucks to the market in
early 2022.
The Hyperloop
• The Hyperloop, first introduced by billionaire Elon Musk and then brought to life
by Richard Branson and his company Virgin, will change the way people travel
around the U.S and the eventually the world
• The Hyperloop uses underground tunnels with highly pressurized tubes to move
people from cities across the U.S anywhere from a couple hours to a couple
minutes, all while being sustainable to the environment.
• This is still in the trial stage but the Virgin Hyperloop One recently completed
their first human ridden trials and hopes to have multiple stops open by 2030.
Drones

• Fully autonomous drones controlled from

a central location will change the way
deliveries are made and how fast they will
arrive to your front door.
• Amazon has made news in the recent
years for testing their deliveries with
drones and hopes to use them in the
upcoming years as they have received
FAA approval in the past year. Amazon
promises their deliveries will arrive in 30
minutes or less.
Space Travel

• Commercial and leisure space travel will come to life

in the upcoming years as more and more companies
compete to be the first private company to achieve
for profit space travel.

• SpaceX, the leading company in commercial space

travel has been testing multiple rockets to eventually
carry people/cargo up into space.

• The first non-NASA human space flights are

scheduled for the later part of 2022.

• In the far future private companies will begin

building hotels up in space or on different planets
that will increase the need for space travel.
Conclusion

• No one knows for certain what will happen

and what transportation will look like in the
future, but we do know technology will have
a huge role in shaping future transportation.
• From land to air and sea, products will get to
front doors quicker without sacrificing
quality, price, or sustainability.
