event of a rear collision

– Structure of upper unit
• Upper unit consists of 2 gears (connected to the
cable), connecting bracket and guide spacer

2 gears rotate by being pulled down by the cable
Connecting and the rotating gear pushes up the connecting
Bracket bracket. Therefore, the headrest moves up [30
Spring mm (1.18 in.)] and forward [25 mm (0.98 in.)]

with the guide spacer.

NOTE: The headrest goes back to previous state by spring force after the added force to
4 the lower unit is removed.

– When removing power seat type rear No. 1 seat, to
move the seat to the horizontal direction is required

Removal of Rear No. 1 Seat (for Power Seat)
– Removal procedure
1. Remove the 2 bolts on the inner
side of the seat.

2. Pull the side slide control

rear No. 1 seat inward

Removal of Rear No. 1 Seat (for Power Seat)
– Removal procedure
3. Remove the 2 bolts on the
outer side of the seat.
4. Remove the nut and
disconnect the wiring
harness protection set.
5. Disconnect each connector.

6. Pull the side slide control


lever knob and slide the
rear No. 1 seat to center
position.
7. Remove the rear No. 1 seat.

NOTICE:
To avoid the contact of the seat leg to the vehicle body, return the seat position to
7 center position before removing the rear No. 1 seat.

Removal of Rear No. 2 Seat
– When removing rear No. 2 seat, to cancel the spring
tension of the rear seatback hinge is required.
• Install service stopper bolts (Equivalent of M8 x 1.25)
