About Sufism
-Sufism is defined as "Islamic mysticism” in which
through belief and practice Muslims attain nearness to
Allah by way of direct personal experience of God.
-existing in both Sunni and Shia Islam, Sufism is not a
distinct sect, but a method of approaching or a way of
understanding the religion.
-As a mystic and ascetic aspect of Islam, it is considered
as the part of Islamic teaching that deals with the
purification of the inner self.
Main Principles of Sufism
Attain god through your spiritual master as your master
is God.
Constant remembrance of dhikr.
You must kill your animal spirit i.e. ego.
You may use devotional music to help strengthen your
devotion.
Knowledge is not as important as a direct spiritual
experience.
Tremendous courage is needed to be a Sufi
INFLUENCE OF SUFISM
Historically, Sufism became an incredibly important part
of Islam and its impact could be seen in Islamic Civilization

By educating the masses and deepening the spiritual
concerns of the Muslims, Sufism has played an
important role in the formation of Muslim society. 
 The Sufis have been further responsible for a large-scale
missionary activity all over the world,
Sufis have elaborated the image of the Prophet
Muhammed the founder of Islam—and have thus largely
influenced Muslim piety by their Muhammad-mysticism.
 In some countries, Sufi leaders are also active
politically.
PEACE AND AS AN EFFECTIVE TOOL
AGAINST RADICAL ISLAMISTS
Sufism has gained unique popularity which almost contain of the
message of mutual love, harmony and brotherhood
Sufism alone can prevent wars and promote tolerance and mutual
respect.
We can disregard and neglect terrorism and extremism with the
lessons of the great Sufis such as Khawaja Ghulam Fareed and Baba
Bulla Shah. Their message and educations are common and eternal.
With its comprehensive message of love, harmony, patience and
brotherhood, they unite people irrespective of their class, culture, faith
and religion.
It lotions humanity together in a unified bond of love and purity of
feelings. Thus, there is a dire need to stimulate Sufism and abolish
extremism and fundamentalism.
