THREE CHALLENGES TO

SUSTAINABILITY BY GROUP 6
OF THIERRY ARAKAZA, MARIE GRACE
WIMURIZA, AND JEAN BUKURU
.
First Challenge: Low Economic Growth.
.

Effects of low economic growth are:

 Lack of equality may become more obvious when living standards rise more
slowly for the people with lower income.
 If tax revenue is lower than planned, could result in lower spending on public
service.
 Possible unemployment if growth is not sufficient to create new jobs displaced by
technology.
 lower rates of inflation.
 less pressure than anticipated on the environment's resources.
Solution to slow economic growth:
.

 Lower interest rates: Reduce borrowing costs, which will increase consumer and
business investment.
 Strengthening of industrialization.
Second challenge: Low level of education.
.

Effects of low level of education:

(BOYLE, 2022) said that People without a high school certificate struggle more in
life, are in worse health, and are less wealthy than those with one. Major effects of
ignorance include poor health, voice loss, a shorter lifespan, unemployment,
exploitation, and gender inequity.
Solution to the low level of education are:
.

 It makes sense to lower education's price. Many African nations have abolished
school tuition.
 One kind of program that enables pupils to have lunch at school is the school
lunch program.
 It has been demonstrated that undernourished children perform poorly in school.
 Parenting education
 A fresh educational approach.
 Improved teaching resources
Third challenge: Unemployment
.

Effects of unemployment:
(Williams, 2021) said that unemployment has numerous negative personal and
societal effects include extreme financial hardship and poverty, debt, homelessness
and housing stress, family conflict and breakup, shame and stigma, increased social
isolation, crime, loss of confidence and self-esteem, deterioration of work skills,
and illness.
Solutions to unemployment are:
.

 We can create our own jobs.

 Another good way to combat unemployment is by funding education.
