What does it mean to measure?
• When we measure, we complete objects to figure out which
one is shorter or longer, shorter or taller, and heavier or
lighter.
• We can use the tools below to measure the height or the
weight of an object.

When we measure an object, we can see how
long, or wide, or tall it is (e.g., inches,
meters).

There are two types of measurement:

1. Non-standard Measurement
2. Standard Measurement
Non-standard Measurement means measuring
things with blocks, pencils, clips, hands, feet, and
other similar objects.

Standard Measurement means measuring things in
inches, feet, kilogram, or liters using ruler, weighing
scale, and other measuring devices.
 How to Measure in inches?
This is a ruler. It measures things in inches
(in).

How to Measure in kilograms?
This is a weighing scale. It measures things in
kilogram.

Pictograph
 Graphs are drawings that show mathematical information with
lines, shapes, and colors. People use graphs to compare amounts
of things or other numbers. Graphs are useful because they can be
easier to understand than numbers and words alone

A pictograph is a graph that uses pictures in showing data.
