PROVIDENCE
UNDERSTANDING DIVINE PROVIDENCE AND THE PURPOSES OF IT
TO THE CHOSEN PEOPLE OF GOD.
Acts 9:10-16
Acts 9:15-16
15
But the Lord said unto him, Go
thy way: for he is a chosen vessel
unto me, to bear my name before
the Gentiles, and kings, and the
children of Israel: For I will shew
16

him how great things he must

suffer for my name's sake.
How was Divine Providence revealed to his chosen
people?
1. Divine Providence in the life of Saul of tarsus
who became the great apostle Paul.
Looking back to Saul of Tarsus:
Philippians 3:4
Though I might also have confidence in the
flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath
whereof he might trust in the flesh, I
more:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of
Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the
Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching
the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
How was Divine Providence revealed to his chosen people?
1. Divine Providence in the life of Saul of tarsus who became the great
apostle Paul.
Looking back in the life of Saul of Tarsus:
 He was a devoted Jew and was trained well under Gamaliel’s feet, this
training was divinely purposed for him to faced kings, emperors and
princesses as an intellectual and influential person prepared for the
Lord’s work. Acts 22:3
 His devotion to Jewish religion lead his passion to kill Christ disciples
and he started with Stephen, this devotion was again divinely
purposed so that after his conversion this devotion should be seen in
him for Christ religion. Philippians 3:4-6
 His persecution to the early church in Jerusalem made its way for the
gospel message to propagate in all regions as the Lord commanded his
disciples and Paul’s Journey to Damascus to get license to slaughter
disciples of the Lord, everything that was happen was divinely
purposed by the sovereign God who controls everything. Acts 8:4-5
“Every single detail in the life of the
Apostle Paul we can conclude that the
sovereign God who controls everything
was the one orchestrated everything for
the preparation and the propagation of
the gospel to every regions around the
world and that Christ name should be
lifted up among gentiles, Jews, Kings,
Princesses, in prison and to all the
world.”
How was Divine Providence revealed to his chosen people?
1. Divine Providence in the life of Saul of tarsus who became the great
apostle Paul.
2. Divine Providence in the life of Moses, once who almost became a
successor next to pharaoh in Egypt. Hebrews 11:24
a. It was not an accident that the Pharoah wanted the death of every
Hebrew boy in Egypt.
b. It was never an accident that his parents led the basket with baby
Moses inside into Nile river and that basket was flowed into the river
where the pharaohs daughter was taking a bath.
c. It was never an accident that baby Moses was defined as beautiful and
looks like an Egyptian.
d. It was never an accident that he was raised in the army of Egypt and
once became prince of Egypt.
“THESE WAS ALL ORCHESTRATED BY THE SOVEREIGN GOD WHO CONTROLS
EVERYTHING”
AND WE CALL THIS, DIVINE PROVIDENCE!

for his own but his own rejected him.
d. It was never an accident that he was accused with a crime of which he
is not guilty of and is blameless.

the same cross, died on that cross, buried in a rich man's tomb and
was risen on the third day.

commended their faith to Christ and their love
unto all the saints and He gave his hearts desire to
them through a simple prayer in His letter.

you, making mention of you in my prayers;
The Prayer of the Apostle Paul to the Church of Ephesus:
Ephesians 1:17-23
1. Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the Knowledge of
Christ. Eph.1:17
2. That God will open their understanding about the hope
of their calling, and the riches of the glory of his
inheritance (Holy Spirit, v13).v18
3. That they may appreciate the exceeding greatness of his
power working in them, the church. V19-23

He then further discussed these power and greatness in

them through the church that they have in the succeeding
chapters then he admonished them to redeem their time
because of evil days in Ephesians 5:16.
WHY DO THEY NEED TO REDEEM THIER TIME ACCORDING
TO PAUL?
Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time,
because the days are evil.
CHURCH, THE LETTER WAS WRITTEN FOR THE
CHURCH OF EPHESUS. WE ARE LIVING LIKE
THE CHURCH OF EPHESUS TODAY.
AND WE AS A CHURCH, WE NEED TO DEEPLY
ADHERE TO THESE ADMONITION OF THE
APOSTLE PAUL IN OUR CHURCH TODAY.
TRULY OUR DAYS ARE EVIL DAYS!
LET US REDEEM THE DAYS BECAUSE EVILS ARE ALREADY
LURKING INFRONT OF OUR DOORS AND EVEN INSIDE OUR
HOUSES TODAY.
2TIMOTHY 3:1 ¶ This know also, that in the last days
perilous times shall come. 2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of
their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 2Ti 3:3 Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent,
fierce, despisers of those that are good, 2Ti 3:4 Traitors,
heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of
God; 2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the
power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are
they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women
laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning,
and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
CHURCH LET US REDEEM THE TIME!
1. Because we are competing with the appointed time of God
towards our own unsaved love ones, relatives, friends and
neighbours.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after
this the judgment:
2. Because we are running our of time with the coming end of the
world.
Acts 2:19-20 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in
the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun
shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that
great and notable day of the Lord come:
2 Timothy 3:1-2 This know also, that in the last days perilous times
shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy,
3. Because our own life appears only for a little time and
we will soon be vanished away.
James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the
morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that
appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
4. We are being consumed as days go by.
Lam. 3:22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not
consumed, because his compassions fail not.
5. Because the devil is real and is making double time to
destroy the faith of many.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 ¶ Let no man deceive you by any
means: for that day shall not come, except there come a
falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition;
6. We need to redeem our time, because sooner or
later everything will gone and will pass away but
only those things done for Christ and his Kingdom
will remain even in eternity.
1Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this
world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
Revelation 14:13 ¶ And I heard a voice from heaven
saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which
die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit,
that they may rest from their labours; and their
works do follow them.
