Motivation
Training = is the process of accumulating information, learning skills, and behaviors that are
necessary for a person to perform more effectively certain tasks on the job within the company.

Advantages of having trained/ skilled employees:

1. Uniformity of work processes


2. Reduced waste
3. Reduced errors
4. Reduced supervision
5. Increased quality
6. Makes an organization more attractive on the market
7. Better control over results
8. Hight productivity Disadvantages of lack of employee training:

1. Productivity can decline


2. Slower production time
3. Operation costs increased
4. Equipment breakdown
5. Low quality of product
6. Negative feedback about an organization

Motivation

From the moment a person is selected, accepted, and signs the employment contract that person
becomes a member of the organization.
Of course, everybody wishes, including the employee, to be at the optimum level of performance and
to bring results immediately.
Nothing motivates a new employee in a new job than having the opportunity to demonstrate the
experience, knowledge, abilities gained, to prove him/herself useful to the company.

Why not keep this motivation of employees at this high level?!?

…through a simple Training process…

The proposed training process for employees is:

I. Induction training
II. Multiskilled training
III. Development training

I. Induction training – short description

Induction training = is training given to the new employee when they became part of the organization.
It helps to build up confidence and to promote a feeling of belonging to the company.
1st day:

- introducing work environment (short visit in the factory, presenting the products, production
flow, equipment, materials, etc…)
- awareness of organizational values, company’s background, history, policies
- work contract, policies, rules, working time, job description
- briefly techniques of production and quality of the products
- health and safety regulation

2nd and 3rd day:

- theory alternates with practice at the workplace

4th and 5th day:

- practice at the workplace

I. Induction training – short description

On-job training follows from the second week when the employee gets hands-on experience using
machinery, equipment, tools, materials, faces the challenges that can occur.

On-job training has the aim of familiarizing the person with all aspects of his job, so it makes him more
efficient and improves his skill for performing the job without errors.

To be done:
- under supervision
- understanding work instruction
- increasing the knowledge about materials, handling, certain specification for equipment
- handling of machines and equipment
- best possible use of materials (eliminating wastes)
- basic craft techniques

The induction training period:

- ends after 3 months (coincides with the trial period)


- filling a test to prove the awareness, understanding, and work to be carried on
- gets a certificate

II. Multiskilled training – short description

Multiskilled training = it is a practice of training employees to do several jobs.

It has the advantage of:

- more flexible labor force


- more understanding of the business
- coping with unexpected challenges

Multiskilled training is to be recorded in the “Qualification Matrix” file


and for each qualification to be given a “Certificate”.

III. Development training – short description

Development training = it is training given to a potential candidate, employees who want to advance in
a career, taking more responsibilities or changing department, or the work done.

Advantages:

- motivate employees to higher productivity


- fill up open positions from within the organization
- build loyalty, morale, and a sense of belonging to the company.

Other training – short description

- Quality training is for employees:


- to make them aware that quality makes the difference between company and competitors
- to make them aware of the impact of nonconformities if not paying attention while
doing the work
- to provide employees with the knowledge to recognize products that are not up to the quality
requirements
- to understand the mean of preventing, detecting, and eliminating non-quality items in time

- Professional training could be when:


- continuously a problem occurs
             - lack of activities/ needs are identified by team leaders/ managers 
             - new/ updating equipment, products, requests, changes

-      Productivity

 -     Soft-skills training (improving communication, team training, leadership)

To be developed:

- “welcome” / “onboarding” booklet


- training material for all processes
- tests for proving knowledge and practice ability
- “Qualification matrix” file
- steps and conditions for each level of training
