Studying in detail the origin and
evolution of this bridge since ancient
times, we find a period in its history in
which the use of the arch
predominates when it comes to
building it and giving it support. The
arched shape was one of the
preferred ones when it came to
erecting any type of bridge, and all
this was due to the degree of
structural safety and general support
involved in constructions that used
construction methods using the arch.

EN ESE LUGAR?
This bridge consists of twelve semicircular
arches, the central ones being wider than the
rest. For a long time it was one of the main
entrances to the city; The liberating armies
entered through it during the quest for
independence. Its brilliant design and the
robustness of its construction have allowed it
to emerge unscathed from numerous telluric
movements.
