Me and My Legacy pt2.

How Joseph was remembered

 1. Joseph is remembered as a man of loyalty.

 2. Joseph is remembered as a man of forgiveness.
 3. Joseph is remembered as a man of perspective.
 4. Joseph is remembered as a man of faith.
Joseph is remembered as a man of perspective.

 Genesis 50:19-20
But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am in the
19

place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God

intended it for good to accomplish what is now being
done, the saving of many lives.
Joseph is remembered as a man of faith.
 Hebrews 11:22
By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions about his bones.
 Genesis 50:22-26
Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father’s family. He lived a hundred and ten years 23 and saw the third generation of Ephraim’s children.
22

Also the children of Makir son of Manasseh were placed at birth on Joseph’s knees.
24
Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die. But God will surely come to
your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” 25 And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an
oath and said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place.”
26
So Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him, he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
Joseph believed God would eventually fulfill the covenant He had made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
When he died, Joseph was buried according to the customs of his culture, but Egypt was not his final home.
 Exodus 13:19
Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said,
19

“God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”
Centuries later, Moses took Joseph’s bones with him to honor his brother’s oath.
 Joshua 24:32
And Joseph’s bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the tract of
32

land that Jacob bought for a hundred pieces of silver from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem. This
became the inheritance of Joseph’s descendants.
After decades of wandering in the wilderness, Joshua buried Joseph’s bones on land that Jacob had bought.
