ABSTRACT:

Both Internet and Library are great resources when it comes to gather knowledge and
information. With the time, human lifestyle has changed, and their dependency on
internet has increased. It has automatically given internet a preference over library
when it comes to research on any topic. Nowadays, a small kid also know how to use
internet for benefit, much better than elders.
Through this study, it has been tried to know what people prefer more for any research
.It is also checked how much time a person or a researcher spend in a library and on
internet and what are the similarities and differences between these two ways of
research. A sample opinion of 60 people of different age groups have been taken to
do it.
As per our report, about 76.66% people said that they use internet over library for any
research work and more than 23% found choose library.

INTRODUCTION:

This is a study to find out what people use for research, whether it is library or internet.
We have collected data on the basis of gender, age, group, statement agreement and
divided into 5 categories which are Very Poor, Poor, Fair, Good , Excellent to fetch the
data of internet accessibility, easy in use of internet, help from internet, library
accessibility, easy in use of library and help from library.
We have collected data from 60 people in which there are 30 males and 30 females. 20
of them are below the age of 35, another 20 of them are between the age group of 35 to
45 and the rest 20 are above the age of 45.

CONCLUSION

As per our report, about 76.66% people said that they use internet over library for any research work
and more than 23% found choose library.
The usage of internet and library varies with different age groups. For both the age groups under 35
years old and 35-45 years old,85-90% people preferred the internet source of any research work. It is
easier and helpful than the library for them.
Interestingly 55% of the people over 45 years old, find internet easier and helpful than library. Hence
we can come to a conclusion that people under 45 years old and most of over the age of 45 years old
prefer internet.
We also discover in our research work, 86.67% female and 66.67% male preferred Internet for
source of any research work. Hence we also conclude that females prefer internet source for any
kind of research work more than males.
