Preliminary work: Content page

Initial Rough Draft

The initial rough draft included the entire layout of the content page as well as
the colour scheme and fonts. The initial colour scheme chosen was different
tones of pink. Pink is largely known to be a feminine colour that gives out a
very girly vibe. The font chosen was simplistic so that the attention is taken by
the images and the actual content listing. The images were to be aligned in a
rough collage like form separated through brush strokes. This would give off a
joyful vibe.
First completed product
The first completed product seemed okay but not perfect. The colour scheme
was a little too pink which made the content page look like it targeted a much
younger female audience. There were some issues with the contents and the
numbering as well. I had, therefore, decided to change up the colour scheme.
I used turquoises and blues instead, these shades give off a much more
mature vibe and also align with the spring/ summer theme of the magazine.
Final content page
The final content page uses the same images as before but gives a completely
different feeling because of it’s updated colour scheme. The use of blue, white
and turquoise give off an elegant and mature vibe. The use of a striped
background backs up the spring summer theme. The updated contents give a
clear representation of what will be found inside the magazine. Use of
celebrity names and life hacks will attract a wide range of people who take
interest in such topics. The use of images of a model with trendy clothing will
attract fashion fanatics while colourful images of makeup might interest both
men and women who like to use makeup. The numbering alongside images
makes it convenient for the readers to skim through the magazine.
