Signs and roads


Warning signs
1. Types of roads
• There are 5 types of roads:
• 1. Road in a populated area – see sign Д 11, p. 123. It designates the beginning of the populated
area and enters all the rules about it.
• 2. Non-populated area- see sign Д12, p. 123. It designates the end of the populated area. After it
you are in non-populated area.
• 3. Automobile road/ Motor road- see sign Д7, p. 123
• 4. Speed road/ Express road – see sign D7a, p.123
• 5. Highway/ speedway/ motorway/ express way- see sign Д5, p.123
2. SIGNS-observe the shape and the color
• There are 5 groups of signs:
1. Warning signs- red triangle ones- from A1 to A43, p116 to 118
2. Priority group- only 6 signs- Б1,2,3,4,5,6; p.118, 119
3. Signs for prohibitions- round and red: from B1 to B30, p. 119 to121
4. Signs for obligations- round and blue: Г1 to Г20, p.121 to 122
5. Signs for special prescriptions, indications, recommendations-
rectangle or square: Д, Е, Ж p.123 to126
3. WARNING SIGNS
RED TRIANGLES
The purpose of the warning sign is to warn you in advance about some problem on the road. How
much in advance? It depends where you are.
►in populated area from 50 to 100 m before the problem
►non-populated area from 100 to 150 m before the problem
This general information could be changed. How? By an additional board below the warning sign.
► see T1, p. 127- it gives information about the distance to the problem, signalized by the warning
sign above;
►see T2, p. 127- it gives information about the length of the problem, signalized by the warning
sign above.
5. Warning signs- meanings by law and rules

A1. Dangerous right turn А2. Dangerous left turn A3. Many dangerous А4. Many dangerous
