SuccessFactors- An

Implementation Guide
Major Differences in SAP and
SuccessFactors
1. Implementation Methodology
In SAP, we use ASAP Methodology, where as in SuccessFactors we use
SAP Activation Methodology.
2. Documentation
In SAP, we prepare Business Process Document after performing GAP
Analysis, where as In SuccessFactors, we prepare Work Books.
3. Solution
SAP SuccessFactors is a cloud-based SaaS (Software as a Service)
platform, while SAP HCM is SAP's original on-premise HR solution.
Accelerated SAP Methodology – SAP Implementation
Phases
• There are SIX Phases of a SAP Implementation project:
1. Project Preparation
2. Business Blueprint (BPD)
3. Realization
4. Final preparation
5. Go Live
6. Post-Production Support
SAP Activation Methodology
• Use for SAP cloud implementations, including SuccessFactors and S/4HANA.
• The SAP Activate methodology is split into four phases:
1. Prepare: This phase includes project preparation, creating the project plan and
change management strategy, enabling the project team, and provisioning and
setting up the system.
2. Explore: This phase includes validating the baseline, and identifying gaps,
changes and configuration values.
3. Realize: This phase includes configuring the gaps and changes, conducting
walkthroughs, migrating data, and executing testing and training.
4. Deploy: This phase includes conducting the final change management,
executing the post-go-live support plan, preparing the cutover, and going live.
Concept of Iteration in SuccessFactors
• The SAP Activate methodology features three iterations that allow project
managers to identify gaps and changes to the design. Each iteration includes
a walkthrough of the process and configuration's design within the system.

1st Iteration – Explore Phase

2nd & 3rd Iteration – Realization Phase
