OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
1) Unlock unfamiliar words from the text, “Yawning”;
2) Identify facts from opinion found in the text read; and
3) Appreciate the importance of yawning.

1. Have you ever yawn? When do you do so?
2. Do you think babies also yawn?
3. What do you feel after yawning?

INSTRUCTION:
1. The students will read each statement and identify if it is facts or
opinion.
2. The student will drag the FACT statement to the Brain area while the
OPINION statement to the Mouth
3. The students will explain why they think that the statement is a fact
or an opinion.

2. Present the story ‘Get Up, Jacky!’ (Storytelling).
3. Let them read the story silently. (First Reading)
4. Let them read aloud the story. (Second Reading)
