Duties of CIB
To maintain proper records for all the registered
boilers in the state.
Allotting the area to each inspector and approve their
programmes considering the convenience of the
owners. ( Chennai, Neyveli, Coimbatore, Trichy)
To examine the inspection report of each boiler
submitted by the inspector
To enquire into the serious accidents to the boilers
Duties of Inspector
To inspect boilers in the areas allotted to them
To search for unregistered boilers and un certified
boilers in their areas
To keep record of accidents
To submit the inspection reports of boilers after
inspection to CIB
Duties of Inspector
To submit the report for the order of CIB regarding
– Increasing or decreasing of the boiler pressure
– For necessary repair, renewal or alterations in structure of a
boiler
– For revoking / canceling or refusing to renew a certificate
– For prosecution under the act
