Parts and Function of


Animals
An Animal living things. Like plants,
animals need food and water to live.
Unlike plants, which make their own
food, animals feed themselves by eating
plants or other animals.
Vertebrates are animals that have a
backbone inside their body. The
major groups include fish,
amphibians, reptiles, birds and
mammals. Invertebrates don't have
a backbone. They either have a soft
body, like worms and jellyfish, or a
hard outer casing covering their
body, like spiders and crabs.
There are 5 types of animals and these
are:

1. Mammal
2. Reptiles
3.Fish
4. Bird
5. Amphibians
MAMMAL – a warm-blooded animal (as a dog,
mouse, bear, whale, or human being) with a
backbone that feeds its young with milk produced
by the mother and has skin usually more or less
covered with hair.
REPTILES- are a class of animal with scaly
skin. They are cold blooded and are born on
land.
FISH-are vertebrates that live in water
and have gills, scales and fins on their
body.
BIRDS-are animals that have feathers
and that are born out of hard-shelled
eggs.
AMPHIBIANS-are born in the water.
When they are born, they breathe with gills
like a fish. But when they grow up, they
develop lungs and can live on land.
Animals can be found in:
FOREST
GRASSLAND
DESSERT
TUNDRA AND BODY OF
WATER
They have parts that they used
for their movement;

a. legs
b. wings
c. fins
d. tails
Also they have their body parts that is
being used for getting foods;

a. beak
b. teeth
c. mouth
d. tounge
Lastly there are parts of animals that is
being used in protection,for example.
