St.

Jude Veterinary
Management Information
System
Introduction
Project Context
Veterinary care and management are usually
led by a veterinary physician (usually called a
veterinarian, veterinary surgeon or "vet" -
doctor of veterinary medicine or veterinary
medical doctor). Along with this, Vets also play
vital role in animal reproduction, animal health
management emphasizing on animal
reproductive health, conservation, breeding and
preventive medicine like animal nutrition, bio
security.
The owner St. Jude Veterinary
Clinic was also the doctor. He is Dr.
Jeff B. Reonal a registered
veterinarian/Veterinary Medicine. Dr.
Reonal said that before this clinic
became a clinic this was only a store
of food and vitamins for pets but
later-on he decided to make it his
own veterinary clinic.
The St. Jude Veterinary Management Information
System is composed of animal information, medicine
inventory and other information or resources that
could help the clinic manage efficiently. This system
will include the accounting section to calculate all the
expenses of the clinic. The existing manual system
is very hassle and time consuming. Human errors
are always possible in entering data. It takes a lot of
time to verify whether the data is entered correctly,
unauthorized access to data. Storing and retrieving
of records is very time consuming since there is a lot
of patients registered in the clinic. The system will
focus on the main works of the clinic. The overall
impact was no less disturbing.
The St. Jude Veterinary Clinic Management Information
System (SVCMIS) is an application system written in java
that facilitates accurate information with regards to
treatment and diagnosis of animals in St. Jude Veterinary
Clinic. The hardware is composed of server which
requires powerful server data from the data stored. It acts
as internal respiratory of data for the entire system.
Workstation together with powerful server. The system
also requires workstation where the other user enters
and processes their data to generate the necessary
output. To obtain the ideal response time for each
transaction in the system, workstations must have
minimum requirements of Pentium 4 or higher with
atleast 256 Random Access Memory (RAM), Universal
serial Bus (USB) slots and windows XP with Service
Pack 2.
 Purpose and Description
This system will ease the problem
encountered of the clinic. This will
automate all the procedure that being
initiate manually from the clinic. From
information, inventory and accounting
procedure. The main purpose of this
system is make a hassle less, time
convenient and data secured for all the
patient’s information.
The user of the system is the
administrator as the head or the
owner of the clinic. The administrator
is responsible for all the functions of
the system and the assigned user of
the clinic.
The features of the system will be
explained and must be teach by the
researchers before it will be handed
to the owner.
Objectives

medicine and accounting.
• To generate an accurate reports of patients.
• The proposed system is very important to the
owner of the clinic, since all the data will be
gathered and recorded with fast and reliable
system. All the objectives written above will be
beneficial to the owner of the clinic.
Scope and Limitation
This study includes the entire process of storing,
retrieving and securing data of the patients that
cover Animal information, Medicine inventory,
Doctor Scheduling, payments and accounting that
will focus on the development will automate all the
procedure in St. Jude Veterinary Clinic.
The St. Jude Veterinary Management Information
System is accessible by the authorized users and
personnel of the clinic by using the given password
and username of the system. Users can easily
update and input data of patients in the clinic.

Aldhubayb (2020)
According to Saleh Aldhubayb, in their study entitled
Veterinary clinic System is a website that provides
useful information to the users. Users can be a pet
owner or vice versa. Pet's owner can fill up online
appointment form through the website. Not only that,
the website also provides online boarding reservation
form and pet grooming form. It makes it easier for
pet's owner to fill it right in front of their computer.
This project was expected to be one of the most useful
systems for veterinary clinic because clients can avoid
wasting their time, energy and money.
Azhari (2020)
According to Ainin Sofea in her study, Veterinary clinic
management system will significantly to bring more
convenient and meet the users’ requirement which is it
would solve the real-world problems mentioned earlier;
especially overcrowded clinics- specifically general
veterinary clinic that occur almost every day. In addition, pet
owner and pet details will available anywhere and anytime
that can be access by the user. Other than that, the
significance of the proposed management system will also
be able to perform registration process faster and smoother
than the manual process. Last but not least, the project is
valuable as veterinary clinic vaccination card replacement
will be easier as manual process replaced by digital system.

The Parkview Pet Hospital Information System.

Parkview Pet Hospital is continuously searching for new
deployments in their information technology architecture.
As such, the organization needs a centralized system for
recording and tracking key business processes and the
data/metadata they create, as well as storing data
regarding the company’s inventory, employees, clients,
client’s pets, and critical organizational actions. The
problem, as it stands, is that the hospital lacks a robust
system for storage of data, as well as templates for data
entry, and reporting services that reliably produce the
properly formatted data that serves both employees and
clients alike. Parkview Pet Hospital has used many
practice management software’s in the past but the cons
often outweigh the pros.
Therefore, there is a need for an easy-to-use,
low-cost/free, open-source database system
for operational enterprise data storage, as well
as a dependable website-hosting system and
accompanying database. Finally, there is a
need for a well-designed, modern website that
allows for easier customer interaction, as well
as a portal for staff to quickly execute queries
on patient and client records.

The Pet Shop Management Information System.
Automation plays an important role in any type of business.
This will convert a complicated process into a
straightforward operation that will aid in management
decision making. Veterinary and Pet Shop Management
Information System is an online platform that will automate
every transaction including the appointment scheduling,
laboratory test, clients and pet information and many more.
PHP and MySQL will be used in the Backend development
while the developers will use the Bootstrap Framework for
the user interface of the application. The current setup is
being done manually; records management, appointment
scheduling and other transactions are based on pen, paper
and folder methods, in line with those problems, efficiency of
outputs are also affected.

The Veterinary Clinic Management System. Nowadays, information
system play an important role to the business organization as it support the
operations and decision making within the organization. Healthcare is the
one of organization that need information system in other to improve the
quality of care. However, not all healthcare organization in Malaysia
implementing the information system such as veterinary clinic. The problems
had been identified based on the interview session with the staff of the
Family Veterinary Clinic and the researcher successful resolve the
problem.  The problem faced by the clinic are difficulty in organize patient’s
information as the patients need to fill up the registration form manually and
the data are kept on file and stored in the cabinet. Another problem facing
by the clinic are difficulty in checking the availability of the appointment
which the staff need to record the appointment information in the
appointment book. This system covers all the basic module includes owner
and pet management module, treatment module, appointment module and
medicine stock module. A SMS reminder is added in this system as a
feature to remind the patient that tends to forget their appointment. Hence, a
Veterinary Clinic Management System is completely developed on web
based application platform that have a SMS reminder feature.

The Veterinary Automated Management and Production
Control Programme (VAMPP) is a computerized recording
system for herd health and production control on dairy
farms is reviewed.  The system for dairy farms allows
epidemiological analyses, due to the flexibility of the
programme. The programme is used by farmers and
veterinary surgeons by means of terminals linked to a
central computer. The system provides action lists for
farmers and veterinary surgeons; the information on these
lists is presented in a multidisciplinary way. Several herd
reports and analyses, including frequency distributions
and graphs, are given. These reports enable the
investigation of cross-relations between farm aspects, and
aid in the detection of problem areas.
Design and Methodology
System Development life Cycle
This chapter describes the design and the
methodology that have been used to implement the
research. The primary data source and data collected will
describe how the methods used and how they were
constructed. This chapter also explains hoe the data
found are being coded and theoretical understanding
approaches in terms of their methodology. The
researchers conducted a study to know the flow and the
background of St. Jude Veterinary Clinic. The Researchers
