PROJECT TITLE
“POTS OF PLASTIC,
SOW ORGANIC” –
Nurturing Youth Knowledge
in Nature through Waste
Reduction and Greenery

PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
The National Service Training Program-
Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-
CWTS) of Don Honorio Ventura State
University, particularly the “Group 4” of
BSCE-1G planned to take the initiative
of advocating the youth to care for
nature via waste reduction and planting
seedlings. The program will involve
university students of the institution,
particularly, participants from Bachelor
of Science in Civil Engineering of
Section 1G.

The initiative covers recycling old materials
of restorable condition as pots and planting
seedlings planted in said pots. The plants
will be given to mothers that will participate
in the project voluntarily. The facilitators
tend to promote education of waste
abolishment and plant cultivation through
basic horticulture of the youth. This will be
an activity-based learning wherein
participants engage in planting and
recycling for the erudition in environmental
restoration.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
At the end of the program, the students within
the community are expected to:
● To promote waste reduction by recycling
materials to use as pots for the plants.
● To educate the students on how to properly
cultivate a plant.
● To encourage the students to participate in
helping to restore our environment
● To reduce waste in landfills by recycling old
materials and making them new again.
● To conserve our natural resources.

ADOPTED TARGET PARTICIPANTS:
COMMUNITY:
This proposal aims to inspire and bestow
Don Honorio knowledge through creating an educational

students. The proposal also intends to utilize
waste management and basic horticulture to
have an environment-friendly effect.

PERSONS INVOLVE
● NSTP-CWTS Group 4 of BS Civil Engineering 1G
● NSTP-CWTS Implementer
● DHVSU student participants
● Voluntary mothers in every Barangay where students of the
DHVSU NSTP-CWTS Group 4 of BS Civil Engineering 1G
are currently residing.

MATERIALS AND
LOGISTIC NEEDED:
The following paraphernalia are to be provided by the
organizers:

● Seedlings
● Plastic bottles
● Arts and craft materials (various papers, scissors,
cutter)
● Painting materials (acrylic paint, watercolor and paint
brush)
● Documentation (Photo printing and video editing)
● Instructional materials (Details and specifics in
planting)
● Survey questionnaire

SOURCE OF
FUNDING:
A voluntary contribution will be
conducted via online platforms such
as Facebook, Messenger, Telegram,
Instagram, Gcash, PayPal, Paymaya
etc. Incidental expenses are covered
by project benefactors

TIME FRAME
1st Sunday (8:00 AM-12:00 PM) Collection and Surveying
● Collection of recycled materials (bottles, tires, cans etc.)
to use as pots

2nd Sunday (8:00 AM-12:00 PM) Preparation and designing of
pots.
3rd Sunday (8:00 AM-12:00 PM) Planting of seedlings to the
pots.
4th Sunday (8:00 AM-1:00 PM) Distribution and donation of
plants for every barangay of BSCE 1G Group number 4
5th Sunday (8:00 AM-12:00 PM) Editing of Educational video
about planting and recycling for the erudition in
9 environmental restoration
