Working on Individual Ideas
• Find / Refine your idea in isolation. Think to
the problem you are addressing and to the
customer who feels such problem
• You are determined to create a business
around such idea
• Be understandable (no technical jargon)
• Be passionate
• Mentors and coaches will not help you
Presentation of Individual Ideas
• Individuals will present their own ideas Wed @ 14.00
• Max 2 min pitch, 2 min Q&A, if needed
• Slides are not compulsory (sketches are ok)
• Target of the presentation is to create traction on
other participants finalized to idea selection
• Students will vote for best ideas (3 votes each)
• Idea trading and cooperation/recruiting session
(continue afterhours)
• Best ideas will survive. Presentors of non selected
ideas and non presentors will join other teams
Organizers can decide to scrap some ideas
Team Formation
• Team forming will officially start after pitching with
the cooperation/recruiting session
• You are free to form your team provided that:
• 4 to 6 students per team.
• Leverage on diversities (School of origin,
Nationality, capabilities/competences)
• Team shall be formed within Thursday lunchtime
and communicated to coaches on Thursday @
14.00. Uneployed paticipants will be placed.
• Thursday @14.00 groupwork starts
Final Group Pitch on 11th September

• 7 min pitch
• Content that slide deck and pitch shall
cover will be visible in tonight post
assignment video
• Be ready for 4 min Q&A. Hidden slides?
Pitch Submission Deadline 11/09 at 06:00am

To help the jury, please prepare an A4 team


sheet with:
• Name of project group – team
• Members of the team with photo’s
• Title of the business idea / proposal
• Summary of the proposal (250 words)

Pitch evaluation criteria
A) Overall proposed solution ___ / 20 %
• Understanding of user’s need and market
• Degree of innovation in the proposed solution
• Coherence problem/solution and feasibility

B) Business model and plan ___ / 20 %


• Quality of the business model covering main ‘boxes’ of the BMG canvas
• Market potential of the proposed venture
• Go-to-market / market access approach
• Financial and/or social return of the proposed venture
• Strategy for gaining funding
• Contingency planning and risk assessment

C) Presentation; quality of Q-A __/ 10 %


• Delivers the pitch with passion, heart and enthusiasm. Grabs your attention with a
hook/interesting opener
• The quality of the team members’ responses to questions from the judges
Written Report Content

• Indicatively 2.100 words (images, tables, charts, videos are


welcome) to be delivered within 2 weeks after summer
school end.
• Specific attention to be given to:
• Niche market addressed
• Competitive advantage/USP
• Development process (how you came to the idea and
how you refined it)
• Learning experience
• Competences involved and missing competences

Written Report (15 – 20 pages) to be submitted within two


weeks after the summer school
