Geo Information System

Geographic information system (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage and present all types of geographically referenced data

Geo Information System

Creation and maintenance of authenticated terrain data for dissemination and usage during Military situations Creation of terrain intelligence information for Military Survey for authentication, updating and dissemination through the network The objective of the GIS for Army is to enable access to geographic information and metadata by client applications independent of the technology used to build the central repository. Military Survey strongly believes that by decoupling the data from the underlying technology, it would be able to share the geospatial information to a variety of applications both current and future- within the Indian Defence force

Command Information and Decision support system

Command Information and Decision support system

There is lot of complexity in battlefield analysis and decision-making process especially in a target intensive environment, The amount of information the military commanders and staffs must process has increased tremendously, while the amount of time available for decisionmaking has decreased dramatically. Command Information and Decision support system will only guide commanders and staffs decision-making.

Battlefield Support System

Situational Awareness at all levels enables immediate generation and dissemination of collaboratively produced orders Provides concerned staff with services for communication, processing, exchange and presentation of the information for:
Engaging enemy forces: on the basis of recent and complete info Reduces time for generation & transmission of orders and reports Coordinates all arms and joint actions / manoeuvres

Artillery Combat Command and Control System (ACCCS)

The role of ACCCS is to automate and integrate all artillery operational functions and provide decision support at all levels of artillery command from the corps level down to the battery or guns level in a networked environment, The three main electronic devices Enhanced Tactical Computer, Gun Display Unit and Hand Held Computer are produced by the Bharat Electronics Limited. ACCCS will perform five critical functions including 'Technical Fire Control' for trajectory computations and 'Tactical Fire Control' primarily involving processing of fire requests and ammunition management. It also ensure 'Deployment Management' for guns and observation posts for defensive and offensive operations.

Air Defence Control and Reporting System

The ADC&RS is categorized into 4 following hierarchal levels: Weapons & Radars: This is the first level and consists of weapons including fire control radars, guns, tracked vehicles etc. Command post: For the active control of weapon. Area of Responsibility (50 km X 50km approx). Operations Centre: Next in the hierarchy and will have a larger area of responsibility (100kmsx100kms). Divisional Air Defence Centre: The AD battle of a full division will be orchestrated from this centre. The Area of Responsibility (AOR) is 200 kms x 200 kms.

Air Defence Control and Reporting System

SALIENT FEATURES: Real time, updated and accurate Recognised Air Situation Picture against a GIS back- ground. Inter connectivity to the other TAC C3I networks of the Indian Army like BSS, ACCCS, CIDSS. Cross-country mobility. Automated transmission of target data picked up by all sensors including weapon systems to control centres in real time including target position on a common grid, speed, heading and any other available information for generation of a composite air picture. Automated AD clearance after analysis of request for AD clearance by comparison with friendly air activity. Restriction on weapon systems and other users of airspace should be automatically generated once AD clearance has been issued.
