Introduction:
KANDLA is the commercial capital of Kachchh. After the earthquake the region has developed and made its mark on the map of the world The region is facilitated with infrastructure of all the three modes of transport.

A glimpse of KANDLA Aerodrome

Kandla Aerodrome Operations:


The ATC officers are in charge of the runway and other movements at the airport. Any movement without permission of ATC is not possible. There are 6 walkie talkies at the airport through which all the staff members are in contact with each other.

The main chamber of ATC in charge is at the topmost floor.

Security:
All around the airport. The most important job is to ensure security and safety of passengers. They are equipped with latest gadgets to recognize any suspicious material. They are trained to handle adverse conditions.

Managing the operations:


Main server runs on SABRE SONY software (Oracle based) controlled from USA. Connectivity through internet via satellite using TATA Net Service When internet slows down the procedures like ticket booking and maintaining records is done manually Real time database updation.

Ticket booking:
Counter at Airport or any outlet Via internet & tele-booking where payment is accepted through credit cards. The customers are given a reference no generated by the software. The customer can print his ticket or just give the reference no at the booking office and get the ticket.

Working of SABRE software:


Ref. no is generated randomly and gets erased after 3 days. For future details the ticket no. has to be used. Before the flight arrives the Mumbai office gives print of LOAD & TRIM sheet. The passenger fare rate is fed to the software and the rates are charged accordingly.
