Located on the shores of the western side
of Lake Atitlán, San Pedro La Laguna is a
small Mayan town surrounded by beautiful
landscapes. You can climb to the top of the
volcano, buy traditional handicrafts and
learn about local folklore.
SAN JUAN LA LAGUNA

The municipal seat is surrounded by hills:

Las Cristalinas hill, Kyaq Aaba'aj hill,
Kajnom hill, is the part where the
Tz'utujiles indigenous people have settled.
It has three villages in the upper part:
Palestina, Panyebar and Pasajquim, which
are indigenous Mayan K'iches.
 PANAJACHEL

It is located on the north shore of Lake

Atitlán. The lake is surrounded by the San
Pedro, Tolimán and Atitlán volcanoes.
Calle Santander is the main thoroughfare
and is lined with cafes, bars and stalls
selling handicrafts and fabrics. Boats
connect Panajachel to the lakeside Mayan
villages.
 ATITLAN VOLCANO

It is a stratovolcano located on the southern

side of the caldera of Lake Atitlán in
Guatemala. With more than a dozen recorded
eruptions the volcano has had relatively high
volcanic activity.
SAN MARCOS LA LAGUNA

its nature and mysticism, is one of the most

visited places in Sololá. In addition, you will
find yoga and meditation areas to rest
surrounded by nature. As you walk through
this site you will feel in love with the colors,
tranquility, simplicity and culture.
TOLIMAN VOLCANO

Located on the shores of Lake Atitlán, it

formed near the southern margin of the
Atitlán III caldera. The summit of the volcano
has a shallow crater, and its flanks are covered
with ancient lava flows that emerged from
vents on the flanks of the volcano. A parasitic
lava dome known as Cerro de Oro formed on
the northern slope of the volcano and erupted
a few thousand years ago.
