Regional Memorandum 180 s.

, 2022
Implementation Guidelines on the
Teaching and Learning Components of
the Limited Face-to-Face Classes
1. With reference to the approval of the recommendation for the progressive
expansion of the limited face-to-face (F2F) classes by the President on
January 17, 2022, and per procurement of the Inter-Agency Task Force
(IATF) on emerging Infectious Diseases, all Central Luzon provinces
remain under Alert Level I, hence, implementation of F2F classes may
gradually shift from progressive expansion to mass implementation.
2. The primary aim of these guidelines is to implement the teaching and
learning component effectively on the limited F2F classes by addressing
concerns on the classroom structuring and management, class schedule,
teacher’s load, learning gaps, assessment of learning, and other related
issues and concern.
3. These implementation guidelines shall take effect immediately.
4. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Memorandum.
Classroom Structuring
To accommodate the participating learners and ensure that 1 to 2 meters
of physical distancing, as stated in the JMC No. 1, is observed, only
seats of learners, one teacher’s table and chair and a cabinet where the
learning materials are contained shall be retained in the classroom.

Learners and teacher shall disinfect their seats and tables before and
after by using alcohol or other disinfectants. Disinfection shall become
part of the routinary activities to keep the classroom safe for the next
users.
Class Size
The allowable number of learners in every classroom shall be I
accordance with the following standards:
Kindergarten: maximum of 12 in a class
Grades 1-3: maximum of 16 learners in a class
Grade 4-6: maximum of 20 learners in a class
However, the number of learners over the standard number per class may be accommodated based on the following conditions:
• the classroom is big and can accommodate learners more than what is stated in the standard where physical distancing is
still observed; and
• The created set of learners in the F2F class has an excess of 1 or more learners where chreating another class is impractical,
provided that physical distancing is still observed.
Class Scheduling
It is stated that the learning areas organized for the face-to-face class
may be prioritized according to:
• core learning areas (Mathematics, English, Science, Filipino)
• learning areas that would need the use of laboratory and/or workshops;
and
• any combination in which the school finds the learner would need the
most instructional support.
To sustain the learners, particularly in small schools, the face-to-face
classes shall be done continuously and no longer every other week.
Class Scheduling
Core subjects such as Science, Math, and English shall be given priority
in the F2F classes in Grade 1 to 10, from Monday to Thursday while the
other subjects such as AP, MAPEH, EsP, and EPP/TLE shall be taken
through distance learning modality from Monday to Thursday, and F2F
class learning modality on Fridays either in the morning or in the
