BSA PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
DSSC BS Agriculture Program (BSA) alumni after three to
five (3-5) years will be:
• Research oriented and globally competitive professionals
with entrepreneurial skills and specific technical knowledge
and competencies;
• Innovative leaders in the agricultural industry, imbued with
the highest professional standards and ethics; and
• Trained manpower in the development, packaging and
application of novel technologies in support to the national
endeavor.
Admission and Retention Policy
 A student must have a general weighted average of 85% or
its equivalent without a grade below 80% in English, Math
and Science.
 A student must achieve stanine 4 in the entrance exam.
 Those who will not qualify in the abovementioned
requirements but opted to enrol in the program may be
admitted for Certificate in Agricultural Science (CAS)
ONLY.
Admission and Retention Policy
• A Qualifying Exam will be administered to CAS graduates
who will opt to proceed for four (4) years.
 Those who shall not pass may still avail of the non-degree or
non-board programs of the College.
 Those who qualify for enrolment but are not admitted to the
program desired due to enrolment quota may seek enrolment
in other programs.
Admission and Retention Policy
• For the student to be retained in the program, the following
specific requirements must be met.
Any student who failed twice in the same subject shall be
dropped from the rolls of the department and advise to
shift to a non-board program;
Any student with a failing grade of 50% or more for the
total units enrolled in the current term shall be dropped
from the rolls of the department and advise to shift to a
non-board program;
Admission and Retention Policy
• For the student to be retained in the program, the following
specific requirements must be met.
Any student who obtains 50% incomplete grades of the
enrolled subjects and/or three (3) failing grades within the
semester, the student shall be put under probationary
status
Any student who obtains a failing grade during the
Probationary status shall be dropped from the rolls of the
department and advised to shift to a non-board program.

After three to five (3-5) years, graduates of BSAF are:


• Proficient in the agroforestry field and be able to engage
constantly in technological and professional advancement
by pursuing a higher academic level and/or practicing
quality improvement in their career or entrepreneur
endeavor.

• Highly competent in generating new ideas and


innovations in Agroforestry with more emphasis on
technopreneurship, management, agroforestry
solutions and the likes through research
collaborations.
• Leading practicing professionals in the field of

transformation, and national developments.
