“¿Qué?”

We use “what” to ask for an object or a concept.

What do you want? -> ¿Qué quieres?


What is it? -> ¿Qué es eso?
What time is it? -> ¿Qué hora es?
Why
“¿Por qué?”

We use “why” to ask for a reason.

Why did you do that? -> ¿Por qué hiciste eso?


Why did he get mad? -> ¿Por qué se enojó?
Why are you crying? -> ¿Por qué estás llorando?
Who
“¿Quién?”

We use “who” to ask for a person.

Who is it? -> ¿Quién es?


Who are you? -> ¿Quién eres tú?
Who cooked this? -> ¿Quién cocinó esto?
Where
“¿Dónde?”

We use “where” to ask for a place.

Where were you? -> ¿Dónde estabas?


Where are you going? -> ¿A dónde vas?
Where is my cell? -> ¿Dónde está mi
celular?
When
“¿Cuándo?”

We use “where” to ask for Time


(date, hour, month, etc).

When were you born? -> ¿Cuándo naciste?


When does she travel? -> ¿Cuándo viaja ella?
When is your wedding? -> ¿Cuándo es tu boda?

“¿Cómo?”

We use “how” to ask for a manner, a way, a


description.

How did you get here? -> ¿Cómo llegaste aquí?
