History of Hospitality
• Word is derived from hospice, an old French
word – to provide care/shelter for travelers –
The most famous hospice - Hospice de Beaune
also known as House of God related to
hospital still functioning today.
Definition of hospitality
• “The reception and entertainment of guests,
visitors or strangers with liberty and good will”
