ACKNOWLEDMENT
 We would like to express my deepest gratitude
towards my Chemistry Teacher Mrs. Shashi Singh of
class XII-A. She has guided us for this amazing
project on Art Itegration with state of Arunachal
Pradesh & Meghalaya.
 We came to know many interesting knowledge and
fact about Arunachal Pradesh & Meghalaya while
doing this project. This project enhances my
knowledge about these states(Arunachal Pradesh &
meghalaya).
 Thanks to all who helped me for making this
wonderful project.
ARUNACHAL PRADESH :- AN INTRODUCTION

 Coal :- Coal is the most abundantly available fossil fuel in

India. The north-eastern states of India Meghalaya and
Arunachal Pradesh are endowed with substantial deposits of
coal. The estimated coal deposits of 560 million tonnes in
Meghalaya and found along the southern fringe of the
Shillong plateau extending over a length of 400 km .

Limestone:- Meghalaya, a small state in North Eastern region of India
abundantly blessed with Limestone. About 9% of the country’s total limestone
reserves are distributed in the state. The limestone mined is used chiefly for the
manufacturing of cement , lime and edible lime etc. The Menga Limestone is
regionally correlated with Dedza formation in the Arunachal Pradesh.

SOURCES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN
ARUNACHAL PRADESH & MEGHALAYA
Renewable energy is useful energy that is collected from renewable resources,
which are naturally replenished on a human timescale, including neutral
sources like sunlight,wind, rain,tides,waves.
Potential of renewable energy in Arunachal Pradesh
Renewable energy sources accountend for
79.5% of the total installed capacity. The per
capcita consumption of electricity in Arunachal
Pradesh was 297.7 kWh in 2005-06.

Potential of renewable energy in Meghalaya

As of January 2018, Meghalaya had a total installed power
generation capacity of 558.37 MW, comprising 353.03
MW state utilities and 205.28 Mw from central utilities.
Of the total installed power generation capacity, 387.19
MW was contributed by Hydropower,140.09 MW by
thermal power and 31.09 MW by renewable power.
Aqi(Air Quality Index) & pollution
An AQI (air quality idex) is used by government
agencies to communicate to the public how
polluted the air currently is or how polluted it is
forecast to become. Public health risks increase as
the AQI rises. Different countries have their own
air quality indices, corresponding to different
national air quality standards.

Chemistry of hot springs found in Arunachal Pradesh

Hot springs are observed in many localities of eastern Himalayas.

The present study includes four such hot springs of Tawang and
West Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh. These springs are
named according to their localities viz. Braksar, Thimbu, Tsachu
and Dirang hot spring. The first three are in Tawang(Braksar,
Thimbu and Tsachu) and the last one Dirang is in west Kameng
district . The study has shown that water appears almost clear in
all these springs and has has a minimum temperature of
330ºC(Braksar)and a maximum temperature of 700ºC (Thimbu).
The temperatures are within the warm to scalding range.

Jakrem hot water spring in West Khasi Hill district in one of the most
important hot springs of Meghalaya. People here believe that this hot
spring water has curative medicinal properties and as a result good
numbers of people visit the hot spring throughout the year. pH of the
thermal spring ranged from 8.5-9.38, alkalinity ranged from 30-
40mg/L.Temperature ranged from 39-50ºC. Sulphate content was
also remarkably high ranged from 20.0-53.4mg/L and calcium
ranged from 4.2-8.41mg/L.
