SECTION -17

“ACivil Servant shall be allowed leave in


accordance with the LEAVE RULES applicable to him;
Provided that the grant of leave shall depend on the
EXIGENCIES OF SERVICE and shall be at the DISCRETION
of the COMPETENT AUTHORITY.”

F.D. has been authorized by the C.M. for
extension in leave from (5) years to (8) & (2) years
to (5) years, on specific recommendation of the
Administrative Department concerned and
clearance from S&GAD(Regulation Wing), provided
the extension is required for Higher Studies,
Health Grounds and reasons beyond control of
civil servant. However, for further EOL for (5) years
in all other cases a civil servant have to complete
service of another spell of ten years.

oStudy leave should not ordinarily be granted to
an officer having less than five years service.

oStudy leave should not be granted a civil servant


within (3) years of the date of superannuation
or the date on which he can opt to retire.
oExtension not allowed to those who fail to
complete the course within the prescribed time
limit.
