printing), output data can again be perceived as
information.
COMMUNICATION - has evolved into a
POWERFUL TOOL that is essential on our
DAILY LIVES.
What is literacy according to UNESCO?

Literacy is the ability to identify, understand, interpret,

create, communicate and compute, using printed and
written materials associated with varying contexts
MEDIA LITERACY - put simply, is the ability to
identify different types of media and the messages
they are sending. When we speak of media, it
encompasses print media, such as newspapers,
magazines and posters, and theatrical
presentations, tweets, radio broadcasts, etc. Being
able to understand these various forms of
information with an ability to make sense of what is
presented is key.
INFORMATION LITERACY - is the ability to find,
evaluate, organize, use, and communicate
information in all its various formats, most notably
in situations requiring decision making, problem
solving, or the acquisition of knowledge.  It is a
combination of research skills, critical thinking
skills, computer technology skills, and
communication skills. Information literacy is
essential for academic success, effective
functioning in the workplace, and participation in
society as knowledgeable citizens.
