1. The document presents component analysis data for dry feed syngas, purified syngas, CO2 syngas, tail gas, and H2S in a rectisol process.
2. In a rectisol process, syngas is mixed with methanol and chilled before separation in a flash drum to remove methanol and water from the feed.
3. The purified syngas is then sent to absorption columns to selectively separate and remove H2S, COS, and CO2 using methanol as the absorbent.

This mixture is then separated in flash drum. As methanol is in liquid form and contains most of the water from feed (Syngas). This liquid mixture is then depressurized, warmed and fed into the water splitter (binary distillation). In reboiler steam is used as a heating purpose. Water is withdrawn from bottom of the column. Methanol in liquid form is fed into the top of the column and methanol/ vapor is removed as the overhead product. Gas is fed into the column as absorption tower is splited into three sections. This column is used to separate H2S and CO2 on the basis of their solubilities. • Top section removes CO2 from the syngas • The bottom section removes H2S and COS from the middle section. • The middle section also removes CO2 from syngas. • Methanol in chilled form is fed into above section. • From the top section liquid is removed and cooled by exchanging steam with others, again injected into the middle section. • Heat of absorption is removed from the middle section by refrigeration coils. • From the top of the column pure syngas is removed. Liquid is removed from bottom and middle sections. Both streams which are in liquid form is depressurized. Flashed off gases are recompressed and reinjected into the bottom of the column and liquid removed from the bottom of the column contains H2S and COS. • The CO2 and tail gas columns are designed to remove CO2 without removing H2S and COS.
