Holy Week

• It is a commemoration of the Christian
religion that is celebrated annually
between the months of March and the
beginning of April of each year.
• The commemoration recalls the Passion
of Christ, narrated in the biblical
gospels and that tells of the events
Meaning carried out by Jesus, from his entry to
Jerusalem, the last supper, his viacrucis,
his death and his resurrection. This last
event is celebrated on what is called
Resurrection Sunday, which begins
Easter.
• This celebration is made up of several
days:
Palm Sunday
• During this day the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem is commemorated, in the
midst of a large crowd of people who received him.
Holy Thursday
• During Holy Thursday, the Last Supper, the washing of feet and the institution of the
Eucharist are celebrated.

Holy Friday
• The crucifixion of Jesus Christ occurs, who is handed over by Judas and brought
before Pontius Pilate, who was at that time the prefect of Judea.
Holy Saturday
• It commemorates Jesus in his tomb, also considering the eve of Jesus' resurrection.

Holy Sunday
• also known as Easter Sunday. It is narrated when the resurrected Jesus appears before
several of his disciples.
