Overview
The SAP Best Practices for SAP Payroll Processing control center covers pre-configured content for
the two roles supported by the SAP Payroll Processing control center, the Payroll Process Manager
and the Payroll Administrator.

Payroll Process Managers are responsible for Payroll Administrators are responsible for

Scope

• Pre-configured validation rules with test payroll payslip, previous period payslip and wagetype
comparisons against previous payroll periods as root cause analysis for defined policies, allowing
Payroll Administrators to solve issues more efficiently and effectively.

• Pre-configured policy types that are categorized based on validation type such as employment
related, payroll gross/net, compensation and  country dependent (USA) or country independent (XX).
This shall enable the system assign the alerts to the appropriate group of payroll admins during team
monitoring.

Scope (cont.)

• Pre-configured payroll process templates for USA country version, namely the Team Monitoring, the
Production Payroll , Posting to Finance with bank filing, Planned off-cycle payroll run, Planned off-
cycle posting with bank file, Ad-hoc Off cycle  to be executed by the Payroll Process Manager. 

The pre-configured content for the Team Monitoring contains the process steps for creating test
payroll data, posting simulation based on test payroll results, initiating policies, and monitoring. 

The Three-Click Production Payroll covers the entire productive payroll process from starting and
running payroll, posting simulation, to error monitoring and ending payroll.

In addition, a pre-configured process for the productive Posting to Finance (including bank transfer)
is delivered as part of this best practices solution. This process includes the six process steps create
posting document, release posting document, transfer posting document, create pre-DME file,
create DME file and sending DME file.
