Fruit-Bearing Trees
What are the
elements needed by
the plants or trees
for them to grow?
Climate Water

Soil Fertilizer
The following are the factors to be considered in
planting trees and Fruit-bearing Trees:

1. Climate – it is
the most important factor
which affects the growth of
the trees. It has been
observed that varieties of
trees grow best in certain
climatic conditions.
Climate includes temperature, sunlight and rainfall.

●Temperature
the growth of the plants
depend upon the degree
of how cold or hot the
atmosphere is at certain
period of time.
●Sunlight
It is the main provider
of energy in the process
of food manufacture of
the plant kingdom.
●Rainfall
-is very important in the
growth of all kinds of plants
and trees.
However, it must be
controlled or moderate
so as not to flood and
drown the growing trees
with water.
Remember:
The Best climatic condition for the plants is the…

“Long Light Rain”

2. Soil
- It provides nutrients in plants and
contains mineral elements necessary for the
normal growth and development.
The three main nutrients are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and
potassium (K). Together they make up the trio known as NPK.

little less clay.
3. Water
It is one of the components
need in the process of making
food for the plants called
Photosynthesis.
The water helps to dissolve
the nutrients in the soil to transfer
it in the different parts of the tree.
4. Fertilizers
- It is added to soil to increase its productivity.
The two types of fertilizers are organic
and inorganic fertilizers.
❖ Organic fertilizers come from
compost of decayed fruit and
vegetables peelings, animal
manures, food wasting
❖ Inorganic fertilizers are
made up of synthetic materials
or chemicals.
Market
Demands
for Fruits
Market Demands
It is describes the demand for a given
product and who wants to buy it. This is
determined by how willing consumers are to
spend a certain price on a particular good or
service.
As market demand increases, the price also
increases. When the demand decreases, price
will go down as well.
Farmers generate profits by planting first
and then looking for a market.
Most fruits are consumed domestically but
some variety are exported to other country.
