OBJECTIVES:
At the end of lesson, the learners are
expected to:
1. Discuss how to apply proportion
in a drawing.
2. Draw figures according to
proportion.
3. Appreciate the importance
of proper proportions of
figures and objects.
Unlocking of Difficulties:
 At this point, the learners will read
some terminologies for better
understanding.

Proportion refers to the dimensions

of a composition and relationships
between height, width and depth.
What is proportion?

Proportion is the principle of

design that denotes to relative size
of an object or an image.
Proportion is about the
relationship of the size of one
image to another or to itself. When
creating a realistic drawing,
proportion is important. If the
proportions are not accurate, the
image will look like fancy or even
abstract.
Proportion can also indicate
the distance of one image to another
depending in which the object tends
to be bigger if it is near to the point
of view and the farther the image
tends to be smaller even though
they have the same size.
A standardized
proportion seems to
have proper and
appropriate height,
width and depth.
Learning Task 1: PICTURE ANALYSIS
Direction: Observe the two images.
What have you noticed between the 2 images?
A standardized
proportion seems to
have proper and
appropriate height,
width and depth.
Learning Task 2: APPLY WHAT HAVE
YOU LEARNED.
Direction: You learned earlier that
proportions determine the size between
objects. Apply what have you learned by
combining the related figures together in a
single drawing. Figures can be overlapping.
Draw it on a short bond paper. It can be free
hand drawing or computerized drawing.
(Items on the pictures are protractor, eraser,
pen, notebook and scissors).
Proportion identifies distances of objects with
one another.
Learning Task 3:
DRAW IT ACCORDINGLY
Direction: Imagine yourself standing at the
middle of a pathway leading to the monument
of Dr. Jose Rizal. How can you enhance the
scenery of the landmark for our National
Hero? Do it by drawing 5 trees receding at
the right side of the pathway and 5 plant
boxes at the left side.
What I can do?
Learning Task 4: ESSAY
Direction: In not less than 5 sentences,
explain how can proportion in a drawing
be achieved through:
•Relative sizes
•Distance of the image to one another
