Nowadays, art- inclined students turn to
drawing of human figures due to anime
character popularity. Although
distortions on body parts are made to
make it attractive to viewers, proper
proportion is still the basic in drawing
human figures.
Proper proportions in human figure

The normal adult body is about seven

to eight - head size, 5 heads for a
child and 4 for a little child.
 
 
Different ages of human subjects have
varying body proportions.
Geometrically, the body shapes of men
are typically angular while women
shapes are regularly rounder. Male
figure also has broader shoulder,
bigger muscles and narrower hip.
Women figure has narrow shoulder
and wider hips.
