Indian franchise of the American business reality television series Shark Tank
It shows entrepreneurs making business presentations to a panel of investors who decide whether to invest in their company.
The panel of potential investors, called "Sharks", listen to entrepreneurs pitch ideas for a business or product they wish
to develop.
The sharks judge the business concepts and products pitched and then decide whether to invest their own money to
help market and mentor each contestant
Concept of the show
The first season of Shark Tank India was a 35 episode series which aired from 20th December 2021
to 4th February 2022.
The entrepreneurial pitch funding show garnered 0.5 TRPs on average and got mixed views from the audience.
One set of audience liked the Indian Version of Shark Tank and praised Sony TV for bringing a different concept to
Indian television tubes.
The other group of viewers who have watched the American version of Shark Tank found the Indian version too

2. Peyush’s CA comment
LensKart’s co-founder Peyush Bansal’s advice to one
entrepreneur: “Ek advice hai, CA se durr raho”
Later on, Peyush came up with an apology saying that his choice
of words may have been wrong but he never intended it.

3. Japanese scam
One participant, The Singh family demonstrated a special ‘scientific magic’
technique through which kids can recognize, watch, and even read despite a
tightly placed blindfold on their eyes.
Even though the Sharks found the technique fascinating, none of them invested in
it for the sole reason that it will not be profitable in the future.
The family was seen promoting their brand called Head and Heart which was later
exposed as an active scam that started in Japan.
Dr Narendra Nayak tried contacting the Shark Tank India team as but got no
response. The show was called out for poor background research and an
unresponsive attitude towards the complaint.
