RESEARCH RATIONALE

This study aims to determine the impact of

Appearance Anxiety on the Mental Health of the
Grade 12 General Academic Strand students had
First City Providential College. Appearance
anxiety can be adapted if the person has a
negative life experience or if it was neglect or
abuse. In this study, the researcher shows that
having appearance anxiety can affect mental
health. It perceived flaws and repetitive behaviors
that can cause significant distress, and impact
your ability to function in your daily life.

health.The results of this study were used as bases in formulating
theories on appearance anxiety and mental health.

Depression and prolonged grief, also known as trauma or

complicated grief, are two mental health conditions that are

resilience, and self-esteem. Mental health is fundamental to overall
health and productivity. A traditional public health approach to mental
health not only rarely explicitly addresses the concept of inequality,
but its meaning is also usually conflated, without questions, with
socio-economic disadvantage (ef. Macintyre 2000).

Mahoney, S. Physical appearance anxiety is the fear of being judged negatively

No one can get away from the sequel of anxiety. It can grow from
early stage to old stage, their ethics change, and with each step
has normal anxiety encounter. Appearance anxiety describes an
apprehension about aspects of one’s physical appearance and
how others evaluate them (Brewer, H., & Weinstein, M., 1993).
Anxiety levels can rise considerably when people usually feel they
are out of place and judged by their peers.
Normal anxiety is felt during those creative moments when
a fine artist suddenly comes to an understanding that leads to the
realization that one's life or the lives of others will be forever
changed. When people become aware that their existence or some
value associated with it may be threatened, they experience
anxiety. Nobody can escape the aftereffects of anxiety. It can
develop from an early stage to an old stage, their ethics change,
and with each step comes normal anxiety.
