ROMANTIC PERIOD

 18th - 19th century

 Quickly spread throughout Europe and the United States
ROMANTICISM
 It is a reaction to the classical, contemplative nature of
Neoclassical pieces. It seeks modernism and expresses
emotion through art.
 The artists emphasized that sense and emotions - not
simply reason and order - were equally important means of
understanding and experiencing the world.
 Romanticist practitioners found their voices across all
genres, including literature, music, art, and architecture.
