The Bedan is Christian and Benedictine

In February of 2017, the Very Reverend Rafaelito Alaras, OSB,

then the Chancellor of the school

and Superior of the Benedictine monks that manage San Beda,

addressed all stakeholders – students, parents, alumni,

support staff, faculty, administrators, trustees.

The key portion of his address concerned Christian formation.

o San Beda…what we do is not just education,
it is formation…
o We are proclaiming the Kingdom of God.
o The standard for the life of every person, ……
How did you live out the values of God’s
kingdom?
o Did you tell people about God,
that God is loving, that God is merciful?
o How much of that did you show with your life
to other people?
o That is the standard of the Christian life.
That is our vocation, all of us.
That is what God will ask of us.
